Docents

Do you like meeting new people? Do you want to spend an afternoon getting to know neighbors and visitors? Join our docents! Docents are our ambassadors, greeting visitors and answering questions at the museum. You can make a lasting impact on our visitors.

Docents volunteer for three-hour shifts throughout the year when the museum is open, Saturdays from 11-2. Docents also assist with special events and programming.

Teen Volunteer Program

Our Teen Volunteers are students (grades 9-12) who are eager to learn about local history. We are looking for young people who are able to interact and work with adults in a professional manner, working semi-independently. Teens may volunteer as docents when the museum is open (Saturdays, 11-2) . Other opportunities include helping with various behind the scenes activities, including social media, research, and assisting with children’s programs. For those interested in completing more personal work, research and education projects may be available under the guidance of the director. To apply, please email the director. Volunteering at the museum fulfills North Shore High School community service requirements. Questions? Contact the Sea Cliff Village Museum office for more information, 516-801-3401 or museum@seacliff-ny.gov
